Found
your JustTires site when looking for tire retailers. I was planning
on taking the car to JustTires, but after reading your story I am
beginning to have second thoughts.
Thanks,
Chris
I
can't blame anyone for having second thoughts after seeing this
site. Maybe you can take your car to your local GoodYear Tire Store.
Uh, maybe not since they own JT.
I'm
having a problem with Just Tires. They put two different makes of
tires on my Jeep and guaranteed me that they were the same size.
Well, they were the same size but not the same circumference. This
mistake ended up costing me over $300 to get my transaxle repaired.
Where is the main office of Just Tires and what is the address?
Thanks
Sandy
Sandy,
I
am so sorry to hear about your situation. Because some Just Tires
might be independently owned, main offices may be different. Doesn't
matter. You can 1)check to see if your state has automotive repair
mediation (like CA does), 2)go to small claims and serve papers
on that store, 3) you can also go to the BBB if your situation happend
within one year. I am not a lawyer so see if this info is true for
your area.
Kevin
:)
ps before doing any of the above, you may want to see if JT may
make good on your situation.
A
line to let you know that Just Tires only lasted about 5 years in
Memphis. I also worked for GoodYear at one time and know how they
treat people. I only stayed about 6 months. For the last 11 years
I have worked for a company called Scott Alignment (in Memphis ).
They have been in business for over 50 years and they have never
advertised. All of our customers are referred to us by other customers,
and we have appointments booked as much as 2 weeks in advance. This
is the type of shop I suggest every one use. There is one in most
every town or city.
I
am not really sure if this person worked for Good Year or Scott
Alignment but I would visit Scott if I lived in memphis. I love
companies that have no need for formal advertisement.
Dear
KC,
I live in New Jersey and it appears that Just Tires treats it's
customers the same no matter where you live.
I have spent approximately $1000.00 in tires from a local store
between 2 different vehicles. 3 months ago I brought one vehicle
in for new tires(2). I also decided to have an oil and lube job
performed. When I came back to pick up the vehicle I checked under
the hood and found the same filter on my car. Before receiving the
bill I asked if my oil was changed and the "Einstein" behind the
counter said yes. When I stated that the vehicle had the original
filter still on his reply was I guess we did not change the oil.
No sorry or we will change it now without a charge, only do you
still want the oil change. The car was at the site for over 3 hours
while I ran errands.
Stupid
me only requested to have the charge for the oil and lube removed.
My most recent encounter involved a flat repair. A tire I had purchased
and paid for an extended warranty. When I brought the tire in the
repairman said due to the nature of the puncture they would have
to replace the whole tire. This was fine until the asked me for
my copy of the warranty. I unfortunately did not have it but I know
that they keep a record of this information. The manager said they
did have it on record but needed some 9 digit number which corressponded
to that particular tire. Because I could not produce this number
they charged me for a new tire.
I was stupid for going back after the first incident, but since
I had the tire under warranty I felt I had no choice. Well now I
have woken from my sleep and vow never to patronize Just Tires again.
There is an old saying in the business world; "It is cheaper and
easier to keep an existing client than to solicit a new client."
It appears Just Tires has its own set of business ethics!
America - what a great country... This is a place where we can all
freely share our experiences, opinions, and perspectives, and others
can either accept them or reject them, and we can even change our
mind about how we feel on a particular topic, and share that, too.
When a customer is treated in the manner that this customer was
treated, or when they gain the perception they were treated poorly,
it is not especially relevant whether or not the issues are factual.
Something occurred which has resulted in the customer taking his
own time, money, and energy, to develop and openly publish their
experience to the world.
Just think of the impact to Just Tires if this person was sharing
a positive story - like his Nordstrom example.
By
the way, no one has ever said that Nordstrom's has the best prices
around, or even that they sell the very best products available.
But, we all know they have the very best approach in existence regarding
how they deal with the customer. This is especially true when a
customer has a need to return a defective product, or question pricing.
Nordstroms empowers their employees to handle issues and make autonomous
decisions without the intervention of their manager - even for clothing
which costs more than - well, more than a monthly house payment.
My point is simple. Just Tires could probably charge slightly higher
prices if they had a solid customer relations or customer service
philosophy in place. Some positive attribute dealing with people
that distinguished them from other tire resellers. All people like
to be treated with dignity and respect, even when they are purchasing
tires. And, if a customer feels like they are treated poorly, they
will tell a friend, and in this case, tell the world.
While I have no personal experience, either negative or positive,
to share with the world regarding Just Tires, I was surfing the
net looking for a place to purchase tires this morning, and discovered
this web site. The impact to me is simple. I took the time out to
respond, and I will not consider purchasing my tires from Just Tires.
Why take the chance?
Whether his story is accurate or not is not especially important
to me. What is important to me is that generally, my dollars spend
the same when I purchase tires. For those of you who are wondering,
if Nordstrom sold tires, that is where I would go to buy tires.
Yes, I would probably pay slightly more than I would if they were
purchased at Just Tires (or maybe not), but I would be treated well,
and Nordy's would probably have a free shuttle service to transport
me to and from my home while they were installing tires, or have
free coffee, tea, soda, mineral water, bottled water, and snacks,
while waiting on-site.
They would cater to me in their own unique way and make me feel
important as a customer.
If Just Tires does not get it, I am confident they will lose the
opportunity to stay in business over the long term, and they would
soon become another statistic - BK statistic.
Thanks for sharing - have a nice day. [:-)
THANK
YOU!,
Your
message is better than my entire site. You are very wise. I thank
you for taking the time to respond to the site. I hope that someday
Just Tires does the right thing.
Kevin
:)
I appreciate your website. I was pricing tires and considering going
to the Just Tires right down the street from me in Havertown, Pa.
Needless to say, I am not going there. I can't beleive that this
Company cannot treat its customers with the dignity and respect
a person looking to spend money on a product deserves.
I
am glad this site was able to help with your decision.
Congratulations.
You are doing what we all should do when we are treated poorly as
consumers. Goodyear would be smart to hire YOU to improve their
customer relations deficiencies. I hope that NTB treats their customers
better. I am about to spend $600.00 on high performance tires. Well.......too
bad for Just Tires!
Yes,
as a customer that has been stung by the GoodYear Corp. they could
learn from my experience and I could be a great asset to their customer
relations department (if I were looking for work).
Kevin your letting one bad apple spoil the bunch. Not every manager
or person is that way.If you were in my store the problem would
have been resolved immediatley.I am a dedicated employee.Kevin you
have a lot of energy, and that's great, But I take care of my customers
yet your trying to destroy my lively hood. If I loose my job are
you going to feed my kids and put clothes on their backs? The customer
in my store is king because the customer already does that. By taking
care of the customer the customer will take care of me. Aren't we
all customers. do you still have your lowered blue pick up still?
I bought one my self but it doesn't wear the tires its not lowered.
good luck big K.C. .
You
see, this person really cares about the way other's talk about his
company. He is right! The customer is king and I wish I would have
visited his store. It is too bad that he thinks I am the bad guy
and is worried that my words may put his lively hood in jeapordy.
I mean, wasn't it the JT store manager that ripped me off? Did the
District manager do anything about it? Nope. I am only telling the
truth and if I weren't I could be sued. I am sorry that the truth
hurts and maybe if this guy wants to do something for his company's
image, he would give my local store a call (I have and it didn't
work).
Long before just tires we had Good Year stores, they screwed everyone.
They lied about performing front end alignments and the guarantee
to go along with the alignment. After being screwed by Good Year
and Nabisco I hope everyone will boycott both companies. Especially
Nabisco, they screw many of their employees.
Sorry,
this site can' t help Nabisco but it sure can tell others about
JT!
I have taken a lot of time and reviewed your website. Man I hope
this is you! you appear to be a man without a life. I read all of
your problems and Theories around the way that the Goodyear Tire
and Rubber company and Just Tires do business and you sir are an
Idiot. I need not explain to you marketing and the way business
should run.
Hmmn,
it appears this person is filled with hate and has nothing better
to do but insult people. This is probably an e-mail from the store
manager himself.
Although
I agree that you have a problem and I do not believe that it was
handlded correctly, you are an extremist who tries to incite people
over your personal petty plight. I would sen you a check for $60.00
dollars to see you remove this webdsite and spend you energies trying
to do something good in the world.
Gee,
everyone tells me I am doing a good job by warning my fellow Americans
about the way Just Tires does business.
One
slighted customer does not reflect the entire company. I
think
you should follow up and find that you store manager is no longer
there, that complaints channeld properly get resolved in a timley
manner and vendictive assholes are viewed more as rediculous than
martering a cause. You have no sense of the world and are a selfish
individual.
I
can see why the store manager is no longer there. And by reading
the entire site, as this person mentioned they did, it can be seen
that I did give the store manager many opportunities to correct
the situation then gave the district manager many opportunities
to correct the situation before writing to the big-wig of GoodYear.
Not sure what other channels I could have taken without going directly
to the shareholders. Hmm, that's a good idea. Oh, about being selfish.
I have spent much of my own time making this site and this 'hub'
of communication has helped many other's make the right decision
when buying tires. You're not affraid of a little free speach, are
ya?
You should have had you price matched, that is good business, but
your situation can not effect the largest tire company in the world,
who by the way is celebrating their 100th anniversary.\
At
least this person agreed with me that I should have received a price
match. Oh, just cuz they are celebrating their 100th
anniversary doesn't mean they're not ripping people off. Oh, BTW,
this site does affect the GoodYear Corp. I know cuz I see their
visits from their domain on my logs.
citizens for good business
